The Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has recently become aware of a scam that is circulating, which falsely claims to be a recruitment activity being conducted by the agency.
In response, TAJ has released a statement to disassociate itself from the fraudulent activity and any associated materials or tools being distributed online.
TAJ has also taken the necessary measures to inform relevant authorities and to alert its staff about the situation, while ensuring that members of the public are aware of legitimate communications from the organization on this matter.
The tax authority has advised the public that its recruitment processes do not follow the method being presented by the scammers, and that its recruitment protocols adhere strictly to the guidelines set out by the organization and the Government of Jamaica, ensuring transparency throughout the process.
